L'Etape de Chagny
A delightful seventies pavilion, carefully renovated into a comfortable gîte, nestled on the edge of a small, quiet lane in the heart of a peaceful residential area adjacent to the centre of the charming, typical market town of Chagny. Ideally situated close to a vast state-owned forest (Chagny & Gergy forest), a real natural "green lung" that is easily accessible on foot, dotted with numerous footpaths and ponds, home to unspoilt wildlife. Nestled in the rolling Chalonnais countryside, on the banks of the famous Canal du Centre, in the heart of the magnificent surrounding vineyards, Chagny is a wine town, a "water town" with a river port and a renowned gastronomic centre (renowned for its Sunday morning market), Chagny has a rich historical heritage (13th century Romanesque church with French MH classification, 1700 apothecary with French MH classification, 18th century watchtower, rare 1958 "service station" with French MH classification, etc.), has a strong taste for contemporary art (works by major artists including Richard Serra & Lawrence Weiner), is home to the most monumental multi-centenary chestnut tree in Burgundy, classified as a "remarkable tree", and offers all the amenities and leisure facilities. Spacious gîte with good comfort. Beautiful and bright living room with a small panoramic balcony. Soft atmosphere combining a neat contemporary style with the "vintage" spirit of the place. Pleasant enclosed garden of 500m² with a shaded dining and relaxation area and a small fruit orchard which you can enjoy during your stay (two cherry trees and a plum tree). Composition : Single house. Gite on the 1st floor. Wifi. Electric heating + wood pellet stove (manual recharge). Kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms (double bed 140x190cm / double bed 140x190cm), bathroom (shower), separate toilet. Enclosed land + terrace + private parking. Supermarket 1 km. Shops & services 3 km.
