Puppet theatre - From age 14 - Cie Plexus Polaire - Yngvild Aspeli.
An adaptation of one of Ibsen's most beautiful plays about disillusionment that plays the illusion card.
When a woman discovers one day that her married life is made up of nothing but pipe dreams and that her bourgeois happiness is based on a gigantic swindle, the chances are that something will go wrong.
That's what happens to Ibsen's heroine Nora, whose cruel disillusionment is brought to the stage by Yngvild Aspeli. And how does she do it? With human-sized puppets, flesh-and-blood performers and others equipped with prostheses, a kind of "hybrid body" halfway between the living and the inanimate. In a set reminiscent of a gigantic spider's web, populated by delightful arachnids that grow in size as the show progresses, the unfortunate wife reaches the bottom of her existence, crushed by the weight of social conventions, before freeing herself from the patriarchal yoke - by dancing, among other things, a tarantella that is no picnic. With images as powerful as they are disturbing, this story of emancipation proves that you can't make an omelette (including a Norwegian one) without breaking some eggs...
