Un jour, un artisan : Pascal Delphin, Sculptures et ferronnerie d’art
"Self-taught, an artist at heart and a martial arts enthusiast, I started drawing some samurais, but this graphic activity, too static in my eyes, very quickly led me to find my dō (my "way", a Japanese philosophical concept) in sculpture and more precisely sculpture in recycled iron. I needed volume, movement, and the possibility to turn around the pieces.
After 8 years spent on the Roanne coast, I chose to return to my native land. A return to my roots which is particularly in line with my artistic approach.
I work mainly with old tools which I give a second life. The shape of the object inspires me and my imagination does the rest. I assemble, I weld, I patinate, I create characters (partly from martial mythology), imaginary animals, boats... My creations are at the same time the fruit of a work, a spiritual quest and a personal achievement. Each of my pieces is unique. Today, I want to share my passion. In all modesty, I invite you to come and visit my exhibition place in the village of Vareilles near La Clayette in Saône et Loire..."
