Transylvania

Three centuries before Kodály and Bartók, the vicar-general Kájoni János of Transylvania undertook a large-scale survey of the music of Eastern Europe, of which the eponymous codex provides us with an unedited snapshot. Proud of his roots, Bruno Kele-Baujard draws from these sources the material for a colourful musical itinerary in the heart of the kingdom of Hungary, between tradition and reinvention, tinged with the sounds and multicultural influences of a forgotten repertoire.
