Sennecé-les-Mâcon is a centuries-old village with two places marked by local history:
The tower near the pond, a vestige of the medieval castle, made infamous by the story of Charles Dorel, a peasant mysteriously held prisoner and martyred by the Marquis de Gorges and his followers at the dawn of the French Revolution.
And the present-day town hall, the former home of Brice Bauderon de Sennecé, a lawyer, lieutenant-general at the civil court of Mâcon and poet in his spare time.
The association Théâtre, Culture et Handicap Bourgogne Sud invites you to walk in the footsteps of Charles Dorel and the Lords of Sennecé, on a guided tour from the town hall square to the pond.
