A virtuoso female quintet, modern, subtle, mischievous, sunny...
Smoking Joséphine: five sparkling virtuosos with an intriguing name... These accomplished soloists have no qualms about transforming the string quintet into a playground, freeing themselves from the codes and ceremonial of classical concerts. Les Smoking Joséphine love making music together, and follow their fantasies with freshness and relish. Under the guidance of Geneviève Laurenceau, they have been blossoming since 2017 in this generosity of sharing with the public. Their spontaneity, charm and humour give these exceptional musicians a singular radiance. Whether reinventing the great classics or defending a masterful tango, they offer their passion to all repertoires.
Always in love!
A hymn to love, in turn light-hearted, romantic, dramatic, sarcastic, happy or unhappy, that sings and plays on our moods, trying to extract the beauty, the passion and the poetry. This programme celebrates classical music by bringing together passionate, moving and powerful arias on the eternal theme of love. Nicolas Worms and Fabien Touchard are responsible for the original arrangements, written especially for Smoking Joséphine.
