To mark the "Rendez-vous aux Jardins" on 31 May, 1 and 2 June, the heritage department of the town of Nevers is organising a number of events:
- Friday 31 May from 6.30pm to 8pm: Lecture and tasting session
Gardens, from Antiquity to the present day: Join us on a journey through the centuries, from the first legendary gardens of Semiramis in Babylon to the monastic gardens of the Middle Ages, via the Roman Hortus. The history of gardens is first and foremost the history of mankind, reflecting his culture, knowledge, utopias and fashions.
- Saturday 1st June from 10am to 11.30am: Guided tour: Discover Parc Salengro, a cultural and natural heritage site.
Formerly an outbuilding of the castle of the Counts of Nevers, and now a green space in the heart of the town, Parc Roger Salengro is full of surprises!
Meet in front of the kiosk in Parc Salengro.
- Sunday 2 June from 3pm to 6pm: Family activities
