This 3-day hike is an immersion in the history, gastronomy and culture of Burgundy, a territory where the north and the south meet. We will walk along the historical route that the Aedui took to try to save their leader Vercingetorix at Alesia, and we will climb up to the plateaus of the Auxois, which offer in turn open and undulating landscapes where you can see as far as the eye can see, or beautiful forests of deciduous trees where shade and good terrain allow you to pace. The numerous villages with their Burgundy stone houses are nestled in the hollows of the valleys near beautiful rivers and medieval castles! In Flavigny sur Ozerain, we will stay for 2 nights in a charming gîte. We will be able to discover the surroundings and choose to visit the famous anise factory, a snail farm, go horseback riding to the site of Alesia, the status of Vercingetorix and Caesar's camps, discover the Castle of Bussy Rabutin, the courtier-peasant who fell into disgrace, or learn about the Mountain Trail Day 2's programme can be decided on a bespoke basis, over a village brew or a small wine from the local vineyards. My dynamic, human-like and experienced endurance horses will make you enjoy the journey!
