Printemps du Cru Viré-Clessé 2025

In 1999, with the creation of the appellation, the very 1st Printemps du Cru Viré-Clessé was held.

Keen to help people discover the youngest appellation in the Mâconnais, the producers came up with a concept of "open days" open to all the winegrowers in the appellation in the communes of Viré and Clessé.

The aim was not only to promote Viré-Clessé to consumers, but also to raise its profile and boost sales.

From its very first edition, and well before the development of wine tourism became widespread, the Printemps du Cru Viré-Clessé was a real success with visitors, who were won over by this immersion in the heart of the vineyards.

This event is an opportunity to discover the wines and those who make them, as well as to share a festive and gourmet weekend thanks to the various activities and craftsmen present at the event.

Every year since then, on the 3rd weekend in April, the producers of the appellation have opened the doors of their cellars to over 3,000 visitors, many of whom are regulars at the event.

After a 3-year absence due to the health crisis, a group of young winegrowers took over in 2023, with enthusiasm and determination, to keep this tradition going!

How does the event work?
23 wineries and estates open their doors to you throughout the weekend to help you discover the Viré-Clessé appellation!

What's on the programme?
Tastings at the participating wineries and estates, live bands, mini-trains (with guided tours!), workshops/olfactory tours, on-site catering, children's games... There's something for everyone!

Practical information
-Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 April 2025: 10am to 7pm
-In the heart of the villages of Viré and Clessé (71260)
-Free entry to the event, free access to the activities (small trains (with commentary!), olfactory trail, tasting workshops, children's games, music groups, etc.)
-1 tasting kit at €15 (per person) including :
-1 souvenir glass with holder
-Access to all tastings at all participating wineries
-1 reduced-price entry to the Cité des Climats et Vins de Bourgogne in Mâcon
Each kit is valid for the 2 days of the event.

How do you get around?
By mini-train: these will run throughout the event and serve all the wineries.
On foot: several wineries and estates are close by, so you can explore them as you stroll around the event.
By car: no roads are closed to traffic, with free parking and speed limits.
