Musical and video fantasy
Obsidienne sets the scene, installs the cinematograph and accompanies the films of the brilliant Georges Méliès with a travelling music that links the past to the present. Playing their medieval instruments, the musicians compose, improvise, arrange and spice up the burlesque and poetic images projected on the screen, sometimes going so far as to become embedded in the film thanks to the magic of video artist François Demerliac.
If you couldn't reach the moon with your teeth (Rabelaisian proverb), it was Méliès who achieved the virtual feat of going to the moon for the first time!
