For the first meeting of the Dancing People Don't Die festival, we will welcome Marina Herlop at the Conservatory Auditorium!
< Barcelona // Neo classical - Electro - Experimental
Marina Herlop is a Catalan singer and pianist born in 1992 in Piera, Spain. She lives and works in Barcelona. In 2015 she released her first album Nanook in which her immaculate voice is combined with the sound of the piano. In 2018, she performs on Babasha, where voice and electronics become one.
In 2021, Marina Herlop joins the PAN label with her new single, Miu. The artist invites her listeners to enter her dreamlike and feverish landscape by descending into a sonic burrow, covering her garden with its branching paths. Resisting attempts to interpret her work, Marina Herlop prefers to create worlds that nourish and stimulate our imagination. With Miu, the artist uses for the first time Konnakol syllables and Carnatic rhythms, which she combines with a transformed human voice and electronics.
Miu becomes a black box or a cenobitic object on which we can project our dreams and desires.
