In the 1960s, Janis Joplin made a sensational entry into the pantheon of rock music and shook up the norms. A flamboyant comet, the white singer with a black voice made her mark on her era and became a legend at the age of 27.
A rock singer and storyteller, Hélène Palardy shares the story and the link she has forged with Janis Joplin over many years. Accompanying herself on the guitar, she gives this sung biopic, intimate and offbeat, a concert energy. It is an opportunity to reveal the many paths that Janis Joplin has opened up for women and to recall what her era says about ours.
With "O Janis", Hélène Palardy combines what she is intimately: a rocker and a storyteller. This makes her a singular artist in the storytelling landscape.
