In 2023, the Jardin de l'Arquebuse offers an immersion in the fascinating world of pollinating insects.
On a sunny day, what could be more beautiful, more romantic, more poetic than a continuous ballet of insects flying from flower to flower? Beyond this bucolic image, this exhibition invites the visitor to enter the little-known world of pollinating insects, by getting up close and personal. Sometimes little appreciated, they are nevertheless essential to the proper functioning of ecosystems and to our food.
But what do they do? Who are they?
Attracted by the shape, colour and smell of the flowers in which they find their resources, they transport pollen from one to another, thus ensuring the pollination of many plants. This daily "work" allows the reproduction of plants, especially those that we eat... those that fill our plates!
They are the "strong links" of Biodiversity.
This exhibition, adapted to all audiences, offers an exclusive "platform" to these sometimes tiny but so important insects! It sheds light on the questions that all those who are "curious about nature" ask themselves. Its original layout offers an active and participatory visit. In order to protect them, let's get to know these insects better, as they provide us with such a precious service. In Dijon, citizens, scientists, professionals, associations... are working to know them, protect them and encourage them. Each of us can become a small link in the chain and can act at our own level to preserve these insects, "nature influencers", who have come to make the Buzz at the Jardin de l'Arquebuse!
