The Les Heures Festives festival is an invitation to all kinds of literary and theatrical activities in the heart of the Nivernais region, which Les Livreurs and Bookson are keen to promote.
With a 75-seat theatre, the former presbytery hosts theatre performances, readings aloud and reading and public speaking courses. The festival is particularly focused on theatre and literary performances, as it showcases a unique format developed by Les Livreurs: the Solo Théâtre, in which a performer gives a one-hour performance of a play, with his or her voice as the only ally.
The 7th edition of Les Heures Festives will run from 1 to 18 August 2024, with a Solo Théâtre performance every evening (except Mondays).
This year, we want to continue developing our cultural offering, and we're aiming to provide a real introduction to the arts for all our audiences. With this in mind, we'd like to develop a new aspect of the festival: a programme for young people. Twice a week (i.e. four times in all), we'll be putting on an original children's show in the afternoon, which will precede a Solo Théâtre.
At the same time, daytime workshops will be held at weekends (some run by Les Livreurs, others by associations or groups from the literary world).
literary community). This format gives the public the chance to experience weekends as if they were in an artists' residency: attending performances, working on their creativity, discovering new ways of using words, all while enjoying a pleasant stay in the region.
As part of our ambition to contribute to the cultural development of the region, we want to continue to export our festival beyond the walls of the old presbytery, by taking on partner venues in the surrounding communes. We feel these initiatives are necessary if we are to reach audiences who are not used to the events we offer. In the same vein, we're thinking of introducing multidisciplinary evenings (Solo Theatre accompanied by musical interludes, for example) offering an immersive experience that's more accessible and less intimidating for spectators, giving them access to the world of literature and theatre.
Similarly, we want to exploit the hybrid format of CycloLectures, which offer our audiences a real opportunity to discover the Nivernais region. By setting up a partnership with a local bicycle hire club, we hope to facilitate access to this activity and thus extend this formula to a wider audience.
