Edmond Rostand. Do you know him? Of course I do. But how do you know him? Cyrano de
Bergerac, of course! But, can we decently sum up an author with only one of his works, which itself is at the origin of the peak of his glory? Alas, it would seem that Cyrano has enough scope to overshadow all the author's other works - mainly his poetry - and that, for this reason, Edmond Rostand is now suffering from the ailment of being too well known to be well known.
Who better than Edmond Rostand to talk about Edmond Rostand? Halfway between a reading and a purely theatrical performance, the proposal traverses the life of the writer, based on a series of poems and tirades from his theatre, which give us a glimpse of the anxieties, fears and joys of the poet-dramatist.
Performed by the Cie des 800L de pailles, the dramatised reading aims to remake this classic repertoire in unexpected places.
