The banks of the Saône are the junction between the city and its river, a favourite place to walk for both tourists and the people of Chalon, situated between nature and culture, and have a fascinating history and present day. What were the natural banks like and do they still exist in Chalon? What fauna and flora inhabit the banks of the river? What is the history of the quays and the buildings along them as the enhancement of the Quai Gambetta is completed? These are some of the questions we intend to answer as we go along our route...
