A ballet dream: Swan Lake International Festival Ballet presents an enchantment of beauty, elegance and grace. An accomplished work of art accompanied by a live orchestra.
Swan Lake is for many synonymous with ballet. This romantic tale about the young prince Siegfried, who falls in love with the swan princess Odette and wants to free her from the evil spell cast by Duke Redbeard, is a story about the power of true love.
This ballet piece is part of the standard repertoire of all the major companies. The Allegro Moderato of the swan dances in Act 2, in particular, has been the subject of countless parodies in Lev Ivanov's choreography, and is therefore known as the "Dance of the Four Little Swans" far beyond the ballet-loving public. In short: a brilliant work by a brilliant composer that has been attracting audiences for centuries.
Swan Lake" is magically presented on stage by one of the finest classical ballet ensembles, the International Festival Ballet. In addition, the grandiose sets by the brilliant theatre designer Vjatscheslav Okunev, who works for the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg and La Scala in Milan, the magnificent costumes and the boundless elegance and carefree lightness of the International Festival Ballet guarantee a dreamy, fairytale version of a classic ballet that is still fascinating after more than 100 years.

Since the summer of 2022, the St Petersburg Festival Ballet has had a new name.
Shocked and affected by Russia's inhumane war of aggression against Ukraine, the famous ballet ensemble is changing its name to the International Festival Ballet.
"International Festival Ballet".
With this change, the artists are making their position crystal clear. The Festival Ballet is an international ballet that thinks beyond national borders and represents understanding and cohabitation in the poetry of art, music and dance. Since the beginning of the war, the artists have expressed their position against Russian aggression through numerous protest actions before their performances. This is why they are now also under threat from Russia. The ensemble, which also includes a large number of Ukrainian artists, sees itself all the more as a ballet for peace and cohesion between all people.
The International Festival Ballet is a top-class ensemble that impresses the world with its rigorous classical elegance, its breath of twenty-first century freshness and its perfect dance performance. The troupe is made up of 42 dancers. All the dancers are graduates of top Russian ballet schools such as the Vaganova Academy in St Petersburg, the Kiev State Choreographic Academy, the Moscow Choreographic Academy, the Ufa Ballet School and the Perm Ballet Academy. The ensemble has also collaborated with leading ballet theatres and won numerous prizes and distinctions at international ballet festivals and competitions. As a result, the 42 dancers of the International Festival Ballet make up one of the finest and strongest ballet companies, as well as one of the most renowned in the world.
