A hero in spite of himself, Colin is the story's main character. His personal journey has left him a dented individual in search of an identity, and he is forced to take up theatre. Despite his reluctance, and under the guidance of his teacher, he finds a way out. The character of Cyrano is a revelation to him, as Colin discovers similarities with him. Their disabilities (Cyrano's nose, Colin's stammer) are the common basis of their difficulties: the fear of being looked at by others, the impossibility of saying they love the one they love, loneliness...
