The essential Albert CAMUS, adapted and directed by Stéphane Olivié Bisson (Les carnets de Camus) and performed by Richard SAMMEL (Inglorious basterds, Un village français) with the artistic collaboration of Jean-Claude GALLOTTA!
Patrice Mersault, a poor employee, meets a rich cripple, Zagreus, who introduces him to Marthe, their mutual mistress. Mersault kills Zagreus in circumstances that ensure his impunity and takes his fortune. He set off on a journey, visiting Prague and returning to Algiers via Genoa. There he lives happily in the company of three women in "La Maison devant le monde".
He married another young woman, Lucienne, but soon sent her away. He went to live alone in the Chenoua mountains, a few kilometres from the Roman ruins of Tipasa, in a house facing the sea. There he fell ill and died happily in ecstatic communion with nature.
