The Ecomuseum of Burgundy's Bresse region is devoting its 19th study day to the relationship that human societies have with their environment, through the way in which they perceive so-called "natural" landscapes. This is a highly topical theme, inspiring cultural and educational projects run by the institution with schoolchildren, fuelling research projects and raising questions for all those in charge of regional planning operations.
During the course of the day, a number of examples will be presented to show that landscapes considered to be 'natural' are in fact landscapes 'constructed' by man and shaped over the course of history. As the aim of the day is also to approach landscapes as sensitive data to which everyone can bring their own interpretation (beautiful, ugly, banal, etc.), the public will be invited to express their views on what a "Bresse" landscape might be for them.
