As part of its 2024 cultural programme dedicated to the theme of CHARITY, Hôtel-Dieu is presenting the exhibition "L'Hôpital de la Sainte-Trinité ou Hospice de la Charité: une institution pour les orphelins" from 1 January to 31 December.
Founded in 1645 by Antoine Rousseau, Barbe Deslandes and Barbe Richard, the Hospice de la Charité was designed to take in, educate and train the city's orphans. Objects, testimonies and archive documents shed light on the activities of the community of the Sisters of Charity, whose orphanage was attached to the Hôtel-Dieu in 1797 to form the Hospices Civils de Beaune.
To complete your discovery of the exhibition, you can take part in the "Hospital Itinerary" guided tour, offered once a month, which will take you from the Hôtel-Dieu to the Hospice de la Charité.
