Grandes heures de Cluny : La Chambre Symphonique
La Chambre Symphonique is a young orchestra founded in 2017 by conductor Loïc Emmelin. Composed of seventy musicians, professionals, future professionals or enlightened amateurs, the orchestra is known for its seriousness, but also for its joie de vivre and its ever more ambitious programmes. Carried by the values of sharing, La Chambre Symphonique wishes to defend a demanding repertoire through numerous concerts, notably in the vicinity of Lyon and Chalon-sur-Saône.
The aim of La Chambre Symphonique is to create, at sixty, an intimate music, a chamber music based on listening and musical complicity between its members. It allows each musician to enrich his or her musical experience and learning by becoming involved in an orchestra dedicated to the defence of the great symphonic repertoire.
Director: Loïc EMMELIN
It was in Martine Lecointre's class at the Givors Conservatoire that violinist Loïc Emmelin began playing in the orchestra and developed his passion for classical music. Introduced to conducting by Philippe Fournier (Orchestre Confluences, Lyon), Loïc returned to it after obtaining his medical degree at the University of Lyon 1. For the past four years, he has been perfecting his skills at the CRR of Chalon-sur-Saône with Philippe Cambreling, in the conducting class. He conducts creations for small ensembles and participates in various ballets and symphonic projects.
During master classes, Loïc has worked with different conductors: Jean-Sébastien Béreaue (Portugal), Peter Fender (London) and Fabrice Pierre at the CNSMD in Lyon. He has collaborated with several contemporary composers, including Christian Hamouy, with whom he conducted a creation for 70 musicians. With the orchestra La Chambre Symphonique, this young conductor intends to explore the great symphonic repertoire and also to mount new pieces as well as work with young composers on orchestral creations.
