The magic of the tale enchanted by the music of Prokofiev
Ballet in 3 acts by the Kiev Grand Ballet
The Kiev Grand Ballet offers us a sumptuous production in the pure tradition of classical ballet and transports us to the wonderful world of the fairy tale that has lulled our childhood Once upon a time... Cinderella.
In this interpretation of Charles Perrault's tale, a young girl is bullied by the despicable trio of her stepmother and stepsisters.
Soon the fairy godmother, like a dreamlike vision, appears and allows Cinderella to attend the great spring ball dressed in her best clothes.
She falls madly in love with a charming prince, even leaving behind a glass shoe in the excitement of her hasty departure.
The said prince travelled the seas and worlds in search of the foot belonging to this mysterious shoe. Naturally, they lived happily ever after and had many children.
This ballet in three acts, set to Prokofiev's enchanting music, is an icon of the classical repertoire and retains all its enchanting power.
It works wonders with the brilliant soloists and the superb corps de ballet of the famous Kiev Grand Ballet.
A feast for the eyes and the heart, a treat for young and old alike.
Although dance is undoubtedly the most refined of arts, it is nonetheless accessible to the general public thanks to Prokofiev's splendid music and this marvellous ballet, which will seduce even the most inexperienced.
