New exhibition of the Parc Saint Léger - Centre d'Art Contemporain in partnership with ABW Warnant to discover "Coincés". The invited artist is Charlie Boisson who has taken over the ground floor of the Nevers-based architecture firm ABW Warnant.
Charlie Boisson is interested in enigmatic objects and images - instruments or parts of obsolete machines, traces, fragments of a lost symbolism. These are all found materials from which, in a patient process of transformation and assembly, he creates a kind of parallel world.
Sculptures, objects and images are inserted into the exhibition space, duplicated and played off each other... Like embedded elements, trapped in a rebus of signs and forms, where mystery and humour compete.
Visitors can then immerse themselves in the reading of Prière d'insérer, a short unpublished story by Anne-Lou Vicente written to echo this exhibition project - a way of furthering the dreamlike experience!
Charlie Boisson graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Saint-Étienne (2005). He lives and works in Paris.
His work has recently been shown in solo exhibitions at La Serre (Saint-Étienne), at Le Creux de l'Enfer (Thiers), at the chapel of the Château des Rohans during the event 'L'Art dans les chapelles' (Pontivy), at the ahah (Paris) and at Bikini (Lyon). He teaches at the Sorbonne School of Arts (Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne - Saint-Charles).
