"What the Thunder Said", Elysian Fields' thirteenth studio album, follows a fertile period for the New York band, after the critically acclaimed Once Beautiful Twice Removed (2022).
For this new full-length, Elysian Fields' founding duo Jennifer Charles and Oren Bloedow have brought the two French musicians who accompany them on stage (Matthieu Lopez and Olivier Perez, also known as Matt Low and Garciaphone) across the Atlantic. Over the course of their recent European tours, a strong friendship has developed between the members of the group, who have gradually developed their own musical and rhythmic language, which Jennifer and Oren are delighted to have captured in these twelve songs.
The quartet recorded 'What the Thunder Said' in New York with long-time Elysian Fields collaborators Ed Pastorini and Thomas Bartlett. James Yost co-produced, recorded and mixed the album, bringing to life Oren and Jennifer's vast sonic spaces, set to lyrics that reveal the experiences of almost 30 years of band life. In this narrative sparse with visions of nature and urban landscapes, the New York duo ask the big questions, unravelling the web of the world around us to extract the obvious and the moods that lead to the songwriting that only Elysian Fields has the secret to.

Dear Pola is a spellbinding artist from the Drôme who fuses folk and dream folk genres to create a captivating, introspective musical experience.
Inspired by such greats as Cat Power, Leonard Cohen, Elliott Smith and Adrianne Lenker, she feeds her musical universe with poetry and English literature. Her EP, 'Ma part du ciel', released in December 2023, was recorded in her bedroom, reflecting her authenticity and natural talent for writing, composing and producing. Her music takes us on an introspective journey where emotions and memories mingle in radiant melancholy, offering an experience that is both hypnotic and intimate.
