From mineral to mosaic

This module begins with a simplified geological explanation (by a specialist) of the formation of different types of rock. With the emphasis on the creative process, the aim is to understand how, starting with the material (nature, appearance, colour, etc.) and the gesture, we move towards a harmonious work. The chosen model is only an intermediary: graphic or chromatic structures are favoured. The mosaic (30x40cm) is laid directly using marble, granite, travertine, etc. Technical and stylistic explanations, cutting method, mortar preparation, tesserae arrangement, finishing touches.
