Conférence : La faïence à décor de Loire
From the end of the 17th to the beginning of the 19th century, Nevers' manufacturers made extensive use of the "Loire river" to sell their products, and many earthenware pieces, plates, salad bowls and jugs still bear witness to this.
The Musée de la Loire has invited Jean Rosen, a researcher at the CNRS, a specialist in ceramics and the author of the two-volume reference work "La faïence de Nevers" published by Editions Faton. This is an opportunity for him to go back over the history of earthenware and the unfailing links that existed between the Loire navy and the earthenware makers. This is an unmissable event for all enthusiasts, collectors or simply those who are curious about this treasure of the Nivernais heritage, which is highlighted by the temporary exhibition "Reflets de faïence, la Loire pour décor".
