Concert: Italian Lights
The Italian Lights recital brings together works by composers who helped make Italy shine throughout Europe in the 18th century: Georg Friedrich Handel who travelled from the continent to William Babell's England, Domenico Scarlatti from Naples to Madrid, Antonio Caldara and Antonio Vivaldi from Venice to Vienna. The contralto Anthea Pichanick and Paolo Zanzu on harpsichord give us the opportunity to hear the sparkling virtuosity and flamboyant expressiveness of these great names in European music. The audience at the Théâtre du Rempart will also have the opportunity to hear Paolo Zanzu and Anthea Pichanick, a contralto they have already heard in the Officina Romana (2021) and Venezia (2022) concerts with Le Stagioni.
