Concert by the "Bluegrass" duo
In the USA, bluegrass, popularised by Bill Monroe, is a musical style with roots in a number of traditions: country, old time, gospel, Irish and Celtic music, as well as rock, blues and Afro-American music.
Constantly evolving, it now draws on jazz, folk, country-rock and many other styles. As a popular music, it can be adapted to a wide variety of settings: village festivals, various events, concerts...
The Bluegrass Duo is in keeping with this spirit, offering a relaxed atmosphere around a vocal and instrumental repertoire rarely played in France. William Rollin, a musician, and Philippe Rollin, an Anglican by training with a passion for the folk repertoire, form a father-son duo in the tradition of the American South, where bluegrass is played with family and friends, each happily making their own contribution.
