Francesca Alessi plays with curves and spaces. With emptiness and fullness. For her, the important thing is not so much the form of the sculpture, but the emptiness that creates another. The void is full of energy and brings strength to the form.
The artist loves to look at the language of the unreal, the beings that appear in the clouds or in the foliage. For her, life is a marvellous creation in which everything vibrates with a particular intensity. Each material has its own language, a different sound, which is why she plays with earth as well as stone, wood or metal... And her search, beyond herself, is for the origin of life.
She sculpts without any predefined ideas, letting her thoughts and emotions guide her until the work is created. "It comes out of me naturally. She's almost surprised when she says that the stone guides her.
