La Cie des Gens presents: 6h at the latest.
A highly improbable meeting in the middle of the night leads to a funny and touching eight clos that the audience will enjoy. 6h au plus tard, a play by Marc Perrier, performed by the Cie des Gens, takes over the stage of the Salle Paul Eluard in Montbard, for an evening of electric verbal jousting and suspense, on Saturday 15 October 2022 at 8.30pm.
An isolated house in Normandy on the edge of a country road. It is three o'clock in the morning.
Gus, the sole occupant, a misanthropic sixty-something, is prone to insomnia, which he transforms into precious moments of learning English.
Suddenly, in the middle of the night, the roar of an engine, the squeal of tyres, it's an accident. A car smashes through the wall of the pensioner's living room and ends up hanging over his bed. From the carcass emerges Marco, a young guy of the angry type who is reluctant to listen to the ramblings of his unwitting host.
The confrontation between the sententious, talkative and maniacal pensioner and the edgy thug turns into a half-farceful, half-awaited closed-door affair, a pretext for a high-flying verbal joust. The two men sniff each other out, confront each other, evade each other, and sometimes come together in an electric atmosphere conducive to beautiful explosions.
From this lively, tight dialogue, rich in droll remarks and emotional moments, a quasi-sibling relationship is gradually born, an unexpected companionship. The confrontation of these two magnificent losers, the most rebellious of whom is not the one we think, offers us a great deal of suspense as well as a most enjoyable lesson in humanity.
