29th contemporary choreography competition for young companies

Come and discover the great dancers of tomorrow

A dozen young companies are expected to be selected for this 28th edition of the Young Companies Contemporary Choreography Competition (contemporary dance and hip hop).

The spirit of the competition has remained unchanged since its inception. Each company will present an original creation lasting no more than 8 minutes. Solos are not accepted.

The jury, made up of dance professionals (dancers, choreographers, contemporary dance teachers, artistic directors of theatres, creation centres and festivals, dance critics), judges the entries primarily on the quality of the choreography, as well as the artistic and technical performance of the dancers.

The aim of the competition is to encourage the emergence and revelation of the creative qualities of these young up-and-coming companies.

This has been our ambition for 29 years now!
