Wine-themed weekend getaway in southern Burgundy
For an exciting autumn weekend away, come to the Côte Chalonnaise and Mâconnais vineyards. This is where the Rocks of Solutré and Vergisson shaped the landscape centuries ago, and continue to leave their everlasting mark today.
In the winegrowing villages of Fuissé and Givry, 2 families of winegrowers will welcome you for a stay in this part of Burgundy, where life is great and the food and drink are even better! You'll be participating in a tasting session with winegrowers who have been passionate about their terroir since the dawn of time. You'll also get a chance to explore the ocean of golden vines in an original way on a moped or a bike. Let's go!
Day 1: Vroom vroom
Riding a moped through the Mâconnais vineyard
This outing with the Domaine Vincent Cornin is an exploration of the golden valleys and hills in great company. The sound and smell of the retro moped you're given for the day will whisk you back to your teenage years. Let Vincent take you down some of the paths that only he knows!

Alternative winemaking
It's time for a tasting!
Then Vincent will take you to his family-run estate. It was created in the 1950s by his grand-father Maurice and today, Vincent is running the family business.
As a supporter of alternative winegrowing, Vincent provides a blend of scientific and experimental know-how to take visitors on an original experience that calls upon all the senses.
Which wines will be the most memorable? The Mâconnais wines, including the prestigious Saint-Véran and Pouilly-Fuissé. You'll love the complex aromas of the white wines and the powerful taste of the red wines from this region that has been producing wine for thousands of years.

If you come and taste Vincent's great vintage wines with a group of friends, we recommend staying the night. You can expect a peaceful stay in a brand-new rental apartment (Sleeps 4 + 2).

Day 2 - Get pedalling
By bike through the Côte Chalonnaise vines…
Southern Burgundy is the land of wine... and cycling! Here, the bike is more than just a means of getting from A to B. It provides the chance for a hedonistic and meditative experience along one of Europe's most beautiful greenway routes, between Chalon-sur-Saône and Mâcon!
Time for tasting
Activinum will take you on a discovery behind the scenes of the Côte Chalonnaise wines. Ruby-coloured red wines, elegant white wines... and a real treat for the senses!
With Activinum, you'll be learning about Burgundy wines in a fun way, as they offer the chance to combine knowledge and culture with pleasure!

Where are you staying?
Stay in the winegrowing village of Givry
Activinum is inside a beautiful, fully-renovated building with a superb tasting workshop. They also have 4 apartments with a minimalistic design. All of this at the centre of the winegrowing village of Givry, for an all-round experience of the vines and winemaking!
Not-to-be-missed while you're staying in southern Burgundy
- The Rock of Solutré: This rock stands at 495 m and offers a panoramic view, not only of the Pouilly-Fuissé vineyards as far as the eye can see, but also of the Rock of Vergisson.
- Mâcon: your stay here wouldn't be complete without visiting the town of Mâcon, the southernmost town of Burgundy. The river Saône flows through the town and it's a very pleasant place for a stroll around the historic centre or along the riverbanks.
- Cluny is the name of an extremely well-known abbey from the Middle Ages. Besides visiting the ruins of this historic monument, Cluny is also a very beautiful village and you'll enjoy wandering around the streets, enjoying the warm temperatures of the Indian summer.
