The Morvan in autumn
Xavier went to the Morvan last autumn and is going to tell you all about his experience. He was looking for a beautiful place for a change of scenery, that was easily accessible by car, and so an obvious choice for him was the Morvan Regional Natural Park or the "Green Lung of Burgundy".
He would remember this Burgundian getaway in a breathtaking natural environment for a long time, as well as their magical overnight stay at the Domaine de la Pierre Ronde.

Much-needed fresh air
What could be better than a walk in the Morvan to disconnect after a hectic week on crowded public transport and in a stuffy office. It's such a pleasure to get the walking boots, coat and woolly hat out, for a complete change of scenery!
We haven't been for a walk in an unspoilt natural environment like this for such a long time! Far from everything, far from civilisation.
It was almost weird hearing only the sound of our voices and the crunchy autumn leaves underfoot.
In this magnificent place in Burgundy, we felt like we were alone in the world.
My girlfriend and I did this 8 km walk around the Lac de Chamboux, hand-in-hand, admiring the autumn colours along the way. You're pretty much guaranteed to come across a lake here, as there are 6 big lakes to discover in the Morvan!
I declare the mushroom season officially open!
I had some great, happy childhood memories foraging for mushrooms with my granny Jeanne and grandad Léon. I was therefore delighted, as you can imagine, to be able to relive these memories with my partner.
We set off together with our wicker basket in hand looking for boletus mushrooms, chanterelle mushrooms and hedgehog mushrooms, surrounded by a wonderful woodland scent!
When we get back to our flat tomorrow evening, we'll be having an omelette made with Burgundy mushrooms, for the perfect end to our getaway in the Morvan.

The fantastic village of the Domaine de la Pierre Ronde
We got such a warm welcome from Gaëlle and Yannick when we arrived, we knew that we had chosen the perfect place to stay.
They have been welcoming guests to this superb estate for 10 years now. Guests can choose from the Love is All Yurt, the Elves' refuge and Merwind the Blue Magician's thatched cottage, among others.

We chose the Underground House, which was perfect for 2 people. We could see the light from a lantern through the window and when we ventured inside, it was a cosy little hideaway.
Xavier lit the fire and I went for a relaxing bath.
