Today, to enter the pretty town of La Charité-sur-Loire, all you have to do is cross the bridge built in 1520. This is much easier than Joan of Arc's aborted attempt in 1429!
Did you know that La Charité-sur-Loire boasts one of Burgundy's 4 UNESCO World Heritage sites? Since 1988 the 900-year-old church of Notre-Dame has been included on the list as it is a major site along the Camino de Santiago in France. You most definitely won't be the first to come and admire this pretty monastic town!
