The Senozan breakaway

This long walk through woodland and hedged farmland offers all the typical features of the Haut-Mâconnais region. From Senozan, you follow the Mouge along the edge of the forest to La Roche, below the La Salle quarries. As you pass through the vineyards and near the Château de Besseuil, you come to the market town of Clessé, a listed Cité de caractère. In the villages you pass through, well-preserved Romanesque churches are a reminder of the influence of the great abbey of Cluny on these lands.

Beware of the poor signposting on some sections, use the GPX track as a priority!
