La Galerie 3 C

Galerie 3 C, a contemporary art gallery, welcomes artists of regional, national and international renown. 2 exhibitions will be held over the summer. In June and July, Gérard Breuil, Gérard Mathie, Patrick Becuwe and Marie-Françoise Prost-Manillier will be on show; in July and August, Jhycheng Wu and Liza Lehoussine. From October 2024 to May 2025, Maryse Chanay will be exhibiting her work.

Opening a contemporary art gallery in Charolles is a personal commitment. It's a tribute to the conviction that drives all creation. Galerie 3C aims to be a free space, above and beyond the fashions that rule the art world.
Despite the angry contempt or simple distrust of anything that departs from established models, giving legitimacy to contemporary work, however disconcerting it may be, is a challenge worth taking up. We hope to transcend the boundaries of the commonplace and perhaps transform this sceptical indifference into sudden attention.
It's all well and good to assert the utopianism and absoluteness of conceptual art, but formal qualities must take precedence if we are to touch the senses. Without favouring technicality or definitively accomplished approaches, we will be listening for the unspeakable, the raw, the unfinished.
The coherence of the installations will depend on this fragile balance between works that play on their proximity. As much as their choice, their relationship will make sense. With enthusiasm and high standards, we will encourage this poetics of association to make each exhibition a unique experience.
