Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a monk 800 years ago? Fontenay Abbey will help you find out, taking you on a journey back in time. The abbey was founded in the 12th century and is one of Europe’s oldest Cistercian monasteries. Stroll through the landscaped grounds and explore the church, cloister, dormitory, chapter house and unique forge, all of which are exceptionally well preserved.
