Start around the Yonne

Between Saint-Fargeau and Guédelon, Bléneau is a country holiday centre at the heart of the Puisaye. Walk around its gardens, enjoy the fresh air on its walking/hiking tracks or fly over the fields of oilseed rape in a hang-glider...

Fancy somewhere unusual? Near the medieval town of Druyes-les-Belles Fontaines, you can stay in the Château d'eau du Pays de Forterre. This old water tower has been converted into a striking gîte de France with light and airy circular rooms.

Go on down to Vézelay, classed as one of the loveliest villages in France. Admire the views over the Cure valley and Morvan hills. Cycle along the waymarked tracks leaving from the campsite or St-Père. En route you can explore the area's unspoilt heritage: basilica of Saint Madeleine, wine-growers' houses, Renaissance mansions...

Move on to the Auxois

Along the Canal de Bourgogne you will come to Montbard, a country holiday centre. Its historic garden has 14 terraces with lovely views of the Brenne valley. Get some fresh air on the cycle track or waymarked paths leading to the water sports centre!

To the south-east, you can visit Châteauneuf-en-Auxois. Stroll along the narrow medieval streets of this village between Dijon and Autun. When you reach the viewpoint admire the stunning panorama of the Morvan hills and Auxois plain.

Are you an epicurean at heart? Then book a cruise on the Reine Pédauque barge hotel at Vandenesse. Float past enchanting scenery steeped in cultural and artistic history.

Continue around the Canal du Nivernais

Charter a cabin boat on the canal du Nivernais, with family or friends. Leaving from Clamecy, you set off to discover Burgundy. And wake up every morning in a different setting...

End up in the Bresse bourguignonne

Visit Anost at the heart of the Morvan National park. This area is a paradise for hikers/riders with over 100 km of country lanes around Settons lake, Autun and Bibracte. After which you'll be ready for a rest in the attractive family chalet accommodation that you booked in advance.
