Free time to explore Beaune. Capital of a duchy that as early as the fifteenth century foreshadowed the emergence of Europe, Beaune, City of Art, exemplifies all the flamboyance of a province whose epic history made the kings of France tremble. Today, Beaune is a striking destination, with its old houses with their mosaic roofs, enclosed behind the town’s ramparts.

Tour of the Hospices de Beaune. Behind an almost austere façade, the Hôtel Dieu, the town’s historic hospital, shows off its true splendour in its stunning courtyard ringed by roofs of polished tiles, often chosen as an emblem for the Burgundy region.
