Chablis, golden gateway to Burgundy
Begin your trip with the world’s leading white wine! Sample some in a Chablis cellar in this area with ‘Site Remarquable du Goût’ status. Then head for the medieval town of Semur-en-Auxois where you will spend the night, close to its collegiate church, towers and ramparts.
Dijon to Beaune – art to wine cellars
Day 2: art lovers can feast their eyes in Dijon! Visit the Palace of the Dukes and States of Burgundy, within whose walls are housed the wonderful paintings and sculptures of the Fine Art museum. On your way through Nuits-Saint-Georges, visit the fragrant Cassisium and enjoy the free tasting session. This eventful day ends at one of the greatest Burgundy wine cellars in Beaune before a traditional Burgundian dinner.
On the next day, learn about the history of wine and wine-growers at the Musée du Vin. Afterwards you take a very modern, interactive tour of the Moutarderie Fallot (mustard works). End the day in style on a visit to the Hospices de Beaune with their emblematic, glazed tile roofs.
