15th March at Chatillon-sur-Seine
Just one day to taste all the different Crémant wines produced in the Châtillonnais region ! For the 11th time this wine festival joins forces with the traditional ‘Tape Chaudrons’ parade, an event that has been taking place in the town for more than one hundred years. Its name means ‘bang the cauldrons’ and this is just what the good townsfolk did in an attempt to chase away winter and usher in the spring. Decorated floats, musicians from all over the world and a range of attractions from northern France make up the colourful parade. It’s sure to bring the sun out from hiding !

15th and 16th March in Nuits St Georges
From time immemorial Nuits-Saint-Georges has cultivated its love of wine and celebrates this noble beverage most fittingly. An equally noble gesture in the past was the building and maintaining of ‘hospitals’ for the sick and needy. In Nuits-Saint-Georges theirs was called the ‘Hôpital Saint-Laurent’. Following the example of Beaune, there is now an annual, formal wine auction that attracts a good deal of media attention. It is traditionally presided over by an important figure in the world of healthcare or social services. Over two days the town organises wine-oriented celebrations : tastings, street events, a half-marathon, an exhibition on the theme of chocolate.
